29 y.o. female. Atopic dermatitis since childhood.
October, 2003
Severe atrophic nail and cuticle changes due to prolonged daily steroid use (approx 12 years).
Note pitting, deep ridges and indented atrophic cuticles (patient wearing nail polish). Marked rebound eczema prevented patient ceasing topical steroids.
DermaWheat Wheatgrass Recovery Cream applied twice daily. Topical steroids ceased. No rebound.
December, 2003
Lunula (white semilunar area at base of nail) remains atrophied and lustreless, but ridging and pitting decreasing.
June, 2004
Lunula now completely filled and looking healthy. Ridging barely visible. Marked recovery of nail compared to earlier photographs. No further topical steroid required.
